This masterclass provides guidance to those who are new to the world of publishing and want to gain a better grasp of its intricacies and navigate them successfully. We will explore a range of fundamental and practical topics along with issues related to linguistic, social, and epistemic equity and the ethical side of publishing. At its core, its objective is to promote critical awareness and agency, crucial for making decisions that more closely resonate with the participants’ personal values, interests, and goals.

About the event

A masterclass on publishing your research work in journals is being organised by the GINTL India coordination at the University of Jyväskylä (Finland). Adrienn Károly, Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Multilingual Academic Communication (University of Jyväskylä), will be instructing the masterclass on “Learning to navigate the landscape of publishing”.

Target audience

  • Master’s students who are doing research as part of their studies who are interested in publishing and/or an academic career.
  • Doctoral researchers starting their research work, who wish to gain basic information on publishing.

Two sessions with identical content will be organised – one in-person session in Jyväskylä, and one online session. You may participate either the online or in-person session.

In-person session for students in Jyväskylä:
